My name is Jackson Paul, and I am a resident of Karatu in Arusha, Tanzania. I love showing people the value and enriching outcomes of travel and cultural activities. I believe that clients can benefit the most from travel when they get a chance to have meaningful interactions with communities and participate in cultural activities. I can make a difference for my clients through my local knowledge, and my passion about travel, education and cultural activities.

I have spent the last six years working mostly with Rustic Pathways, an international student travel company. As a member of a community where Rustic often takes students, I was eventually recruited to be a Program Leader.

In that position, I planned and hosted programs here in Tanzania, both in my home community and throughout the country. My program was the company’s top-rated program in Tanzania. In 2017 and 2018 I was promoted to lead trips in China and Thailand and visited Kenya, Uganda, Rwanda, Zambia and Zimbabwe, where I deepened my intercultural communication and leadership skills.

I was then promoted to a Program Manager position, in which I managed more than ten people, five of whom I hired. I created and managed the budgets for each trip, created day-to-day itineraries, led village meetings to facilitate select projects for students to assist, and worked with Tanzanian and international management teams to ensure success.  I have completed medical training and I’m currently certified as a Wilderness First Responder.

Simply put, I am in the business of helping clients enjoy memorable, safe and meaningful experiences in Tanzania and helping them gain an appreciation for the amazing natural resources here and the good people who are our citizens.
